in the far north of sweden, each year is created by new, a hotel of ice and snow: the icehotel. we had been invited to design a suite for that hotel and asked us one question: what do we think immediately when we hear the word ‚ice’? the answer which came up immediately, was the image of the polar sea with all the cracked ice floes. Beautyful design by the nature itself. Our suite is a room with that design. We just brought in the polar ice floes into the icehotel room 606 and adapted the size of the ice floes to to human factors and needs. to us, that is the essence and the most reduced way to play with ice: the nature of living ice creates itself.
